The ACT
What does "ACT" stand for?  Originally, "ACT" stood for American College Testing.  In 1996, the official name of the organization was shortened to simply "ACT."  This change in the official company name was made to better reflect the broad array of programs and services beyond college entrance testing.

Register online at actstudent.org or Registration packets are available in the counselor's office.

Students are responsible to mail their own ACT packets.  The Marionville school code is 262-090.  The cost is $32.00, but a fee waiver is available to students who qualify for free or reduced lunches.  See Mrs. Finley for more information.

Selective Service Registration
Who must register?  Almost all male U.S. citizens, and male aliens living in the U.S., who are 18-25, are required to register with Selective Service.  It's important to know that even though he is registered, a man will not automatically be inducted into the military.  In a crisis requiring a draft, men would be called in sequence determined by random lottery number and year of birth.  Then, they would be examined for mental, physical and moral fitness by the military before being deferred or exempted from military service or inducted into the Armed Forces.
